Volunteers are the heart of the Canadian Red Cross and the International Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement. Our good work is only made possible because thousands of volunteers willingly give their time to help vulnerable people.
Every one of the more than 30,000 Canadians who volunteer plays a vital role in Red Cross operations. Each activity, from responding to disasters, educating youth on violence and abuse prevention, fundraising and governing, is equally important. For every person served there are hundreds of volunteers working behind the scenes coordinating, supporting and training.
Volunteering is much more than just a job. It’s an opportunity to meet friends, learn new skills and put existing ones to good use. It’s also a chance to be part of a team that makes a difference to many people in Canada and around the world.
If you are a volunteer, thank you. In today’s busy world, your gift of time and talent is appreciated.
