Every day, we publish a photo to show the Red Cross at work across the country or around the world. Do you have a photo to share? Let us know!
We could say a lot of great things about the team of trained Red Cross disaster volunteers from the Halifax area. They’re experienced, dedicated and resourceful. Many have been deployed to major disasters such as the Slave Lake wildfires or have responded to house or apartment building fires. But there’s something else that stands out. Call out for David or Mary in roomful of volunteers and you’ll likely hear a chorus of ‘yes, how can I help you’. There are four volunteers named David, three are named Mary, and there are two each named Heather and Jenn. We thought we’d share this fun photo of the Davids, from left to right, and by their last names: Williams, Rennie, Campbell and Arsenault.

I had the pleasure of working with David Arsenault during the St John river floods in 2008, David is a great volunteer.
